Gdansk –is the city in northern Poland, which is situated by the Baltic Sea, at the mouth of rivers Mołtawa and Vistula, on the Gulf of Gdansk. Gdańsk is the cultural, scientific and economic center of northern Poland. It is the center of the maritime economy with a large commercial port. It is a city with more than thousand years of history. Its identity over the centuries was influenced by different cultures. Gdansk is famous also for the world's largest international trade fair of Amber. Gdańsk has one of the most valuable monuments in Poland even though that almost the entire historic downtown was rebuilt after the last war. The most important monuments of Gdansk are located in The Old Town. The worth seeing is also the largest in the world - medieval brick church - St. Mary.
