This is a great alternative for people who do not like the crowds of tourists. Bochnia Salt Mine is one of the few places in Poland inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. It had place in 2013. The origins of the mine dates back to 1248, when deposits of rock salt were discovered. Exploring the historic Salt Mine in Bochnia is an unusual journey through the most beautiful mine workings including The August and Sienkiewicz Levels and the Dobosz Inter-Level. The unique salt chambers with characteristic shape and geological system, beautiful chapels carved in salt, salt sculptures, tools and mining equipment create a unique and amazing underground city. The exceptional and unique attraction of the Mine is "Underground Multimedia Exposition" that allows for the promotion of the Mine and the history in a different way.
The sightseeing inside the mine takes up to 3,5 hours.
