Tatra Mountain

On the banks of streams, at the mouth of the great valleys, there are deciduous forests and beech forests with an admixture of fir trees. Then, there are spruce and fir forests which pass interwoven roan-tree, and then in the halls, large meadows used for grazing the sheep and in winter, which are exciting ski areas. In the Tatras there are no glaciers. At this altitude, where indeed is already cold enough for the whole year the slopes are too steep to be able to keep larger amounts of snow. After the ice age, there are about 200 extremely scenic mountain lakes. The Lakes of the Tatras are traditionally called ponds. The largest of them is Morskie Oko. (34.93 ha).

Because the whole area of the mountains is protected by Poland and Slovakia, in the National Park (Tatrzanski National Park), it is possible to cross the border only on foot or on skis in winter. However, it is possible to encirclement of the Tatras by bike. This route is about 230 km and is due to the stunning views of the mountains, one of the most beautiful in Europe.
